Foxfield Weekend

What a great weekend! Hopefully, many of you made it out to the 30th Annual, Foxfield Races, this past Saturday. This yearly event brings together thousands of people from all around the region to come together to celebrate, reconnect with old friends, and see some great horse racing! This year's Foxfield Races was fantastic, thanks to all who visited our Woodlands Plot!

This Past Weekend @ The Woodlands

Good afternoon!

It's surely been an absolutely beautiful weekend in Charlottesville - hooray for the return of Spring! This past weekend was surely a busy and fun one, we're happy that many of you came by the Sales Center!

Here's a quick recap:
The Charlottesville Marathon took place this past Saturday, April 21st. Almost 1500 people participated! The start/finish line was right near the Sales Center.

After the Marathon started winding down, 106.1 The Corner broadcast live all day right in front of our Sales Center! The beautiful afternoon brought thousands of people to the Downtown Mall for a spectacular afternoon. 106.1 The Corner gave away many of their great promotional items, CDs, and we had a couple great bands playing live!

Did we forget to mention that we raffled away a FREE 42" LCD TV, and 2 tickets to the sold out Bonnie Raitt concert? Congrats to our lucky winners, who were chosen and announced live on the air!

Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day! The Charlottesville Marathon will be taking place, and the weather is going to be beautiful. The Start/Finish line will be in front of our Sales Center on the Downtown Mall, so be sure to come by. Thousands of people will be around for this great event, so come join in on the fun! 106.1 The Corner will be broadcasting LIVE, all day!

Also - We'll be raffling away a 42" LCD TV tomorrow! Anyone can enter, just come down to the sales center any time between 1-5pm, and the winner will be selected ON AIR at 5pm!

- Pi Kappa Phi Chili Cookoff, April 13, 12:30-5:30pm -- come visit our table!
- Darden Days, Welcome Reception for Incoming Darden Graduate Students, April 13-14
This weekend will sure be exciting!

First Fridays Recap

Many thanks to all who came out to our first ever hosting of a local artist, as part of the First Friday tradition of Charlottesville! The first Friday of the month, year-round, various galleries and shops on and around the downtown mall open their doors, hosting new art exhibits. We at the Woodlands are excited to be participating in this great event!

This month, we featured some of the artwork of local artist, Bill Finn. His artwork will be displayed in our Sales Center all month, so feel free to come down anytime. Be sure to check out more of his great artwork at his website: www.werbal.net.
